Quality Assurance Engineer - Manual Connected TV

We're looking for a mid-level QA Engineer who genuinely cares about delivering a great user experience. You'll be hands-on across some of the most widely used streaming platforms out there: Roku, Apple TV, Fire TV, Samsung, LG, iOS, and Android.

This is a manual QA-focused role. You'll own test execution and exploratory testing across our CTV and mobile products, working closely with developers, product managers, and designers throughout the sprint cycle. You won't be expected to build automation frameworks - but familiarity with automation tooling is a plus as you'll collaborate with senior leads who own that piece.

What you'll be doing

• Execute manual and exploratory testing across CTV and mobile applications - validating functionality, performance, and UI/UX consistency across devices and OS versions
• Write and maintain clear, well-structured test plans and test cases covering regression, smoke, and feature testing
• Work closely with engineers, product, and design to get requirements right early and surface edge cases before they become production issues
• Log, track, and verify defects in JIRA (or similar), keeping stakeholders informed on impact and priority
• Take part in sprint planning and release reviews, bringing a QA perspective to the table throughout the dev cycle
• Validate builds across multiple platforms and OS versions ahead of release
• Help maintain device labs and test environments for CTV and mobile coverage
• Contribute to ongoing QA process improvements as the team evolves

What we're looking for

• 3–6 years of QA experience, ideally within media streaming, CTV, or mobile app environments
• Solid hands-on experience testing CTV platforms (Roku, tvOS, Fire TV, Samsung, LG) and mobile (iOS/Android)
• Strong grounding in manual testing methodologies, regression testing, and Agile workflows
• Proficiency with bug tracking and test management tools - JIRA, TestRail, Zephyr, or similar
• A sharp eye for performance, playback, and UI/UX issues across platforms
• Clear communicator - written and verbal - who can articulate issues and priorities without the technical jargon overload

Nice to have

• Familiarity with test automation tools (Appium, WebDriverIO, Playwright) - you won't be building scripts, but knowing the landscape helps
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and release management practices
• Experience with Charles Proxy for network traffic analysis
• Familiarity with GitHub or similar version control tools
