Back End Developer

New York City Metropolitan Area (Hybrid)

We're looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our team in New York and help scale the systems behind millions of streaming sessions.

What you'll do:

• Design and build backend services in Java/Kotlin that power playback, streaming, and media delivery at scale
• Own media APIs used across web, mobile, and OTT clients
• Work on the infrastructure layer — reliability, performance, and scale are the job, not an afterthought
• Partner with client-side teams (web, mobile, CTV) to make sure what you build actually works in the real world, on real devices
• Debug gnarly, distributed-systems-style problems where "it works on my machine" doesn't cut it

What you bring:

• Strong hands-on experience with Java and/or Kotlin in production backend systems
• Experience building or scaling APIs that serve high-traffic, real-time, or streaming workloads
• Comfort with distributed systems, caching, and the usual suspects (latency, throughput, failover)
• Bonus points if you've worked in video, streaming, ad tech, or any world where milliseconds matter
• You like solving hard problems and don't need everything spelled out to move forward
