Backend Technical Architect | Streaming Platform

We're working with a leading player in the OTT/Streaming space to find a hands-on Backend Technical Architect - someone who can own architecture end-to-end and drive real technical decisions.

What You'll Be Doing

• Designing and evolving platform architecture for scalability, reliability, and performance
• Breaking down complex initiatives into actionable work with clear delivery targets
• Providing LOE estimates, conducting architecture reviews, and setting engineering best practices
• Mentoring junior developers through code reviews and pair programming
• Troubleshooting critical production issues and leading performance optimization efforts
• Owning capacity planning, scaling analysis, and continuous improvement across the stack

The Non-Negotiables

• DynamoDB — query optimization, indexing strategies, capacity planning, cost optimization
• Kafka — consumer/producer tuning, partition strategies, throughput optimization, monitoring
• Circuit Breakers — resilience patterns, fault tolerance, graceful degradation
• TypeScript — code quality, type safety, refactoring legacy systems
• Performance Engineering — latency reduction, caching strategies, load testing, profiling

Your Background

• 8+ years in software engineering, with 3+ years in architecture roles
• Expert-level TypeScript/Node.js
• Deep knowledge of distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven architecture
• Solid AWS production experience (DynamoDB, Lambda, ECS, API Gateway, etc.)
• Proven track record delivering complex technical projects — not just advising on them
• Strong communicator who can bridge technical and business priorities

Bonus Points

• Observability tooling (DataDog, Splunk, Grafana, CloudWatch)
• SRE/DevOps background
• GraphQL, REST API design, API gateway patterns
• CI/CD and infrastructure as code (Terraform, CDK, CloudFormation)
