We're partnering with an innovative technology company that develops next-generation broadband connectivity solutions for global customers. They are expanding their U.S. R&D organization and are seeking an experienced Hardware Engineering Manager to lead the development of advanced residential networking products.
This is a leadership opportunity for someone who enjoys building high-performing engineering teams while driving complex hardware programs from concept through mass production.
What You'll Do
As the Hardware Engineering Manager, you'll oversee the complete product lifecycle, leading multidisciplinary engineering teams responsible for delivering high-quality broadband devices for residential markets.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Lead and mentor a team of approximately 20 engineers across multiple engineering disciplines.
- Manage the development of new hardware platforms from initial concept through validation, manufacturing, and post-launch support.
- Define project roadmaps, timelines, resource allocation, budgets, and technical priorities.
- Coordinate cross-functional collaboration between hardware, software, mechanical, manufacturing, quality, and program management teams.
- Partner with global engineering groups, suppliers, and strategic customers to ensure successful product execution.
- Guide technical architecture decisions while balancing performance, cost, manufacturability, compliance, and long-term product strategy.
- Oversee engineering execution, monitor project milestones, and mitigate technical and program risks.
- Drive continuous product improvement through manufacturing feedback, field performance analysis, and customer insights.
- Foster a culture of innovation, technical excellence, collaboration, and professional development.
What We're Looking For
Leadership Experience
- 10+ years of hardware engineering experience, including several years leading engineering teams.
- Proven success managing multidisciplinary product development programs from concept to production.
- Experience leading geographically distributed engineering teams and collaborating with global stakeholders.
- Strong people leadership with experience in coaching, mentoring, performance management, and career development.
Technical Background
A strong understanding of several of the following areas is expected:
- Electronic hardware design including schematics, PCB development, RF systems, antennas, and high-speed interfaces (Ethernet, PCIe, DDR, SerDes).
- Broadband networking technologies such as Wi-Fi, GPON, EPON, DOCSIS, LTE/5G, and Bluetooth Low Energy.
- Embedded Linux environments, networking protocols, device drivers, middleware, and networking software stacks.
- Mechanical integration, thermal design, plastic enclosure development, and manufacturing processes.
- Broadband networking chipsets and system-on-chip (SoC) platforms.
- Regulatory and certification requirements for networking and telecommunications products.
