5G / LTE Expert

We’re hiring a 5G / LTE Expert with strong experience in wireless systems and gateway development to support customer engagements and guide the development of next-generation 5G Fixed Wireless Access gateways across North America.

Responsibilities

• Present 5G/LTE technology and product roadmap to customers
• Guide customers during product definition and technical decision phases
• Support hardware design choices, including modem chipset selection and RF architecture
• Guide software engineering teams during design and development phases
• Propose software architecture and evolutions within middleware platforms such as RDK-B and prplOS
• Build test plans to validate product functionality and performance
• Reproduce, investigate, and resolve issues with engineering teams, SoC vendors, and customers
• Conduct internal training sessions and maintain technical knowledge documentation
• Track chipset vendor roadmaps and evaluate new modem, RF, and software solutions
• Lead certification activities and benchmark certification lab capabilities for CPE devices

What You Will Bring

• Deep understanding of 3GPP standards including LTE and 5G NR (NSA & SA)
• Protocol stack expertise across Layer 1–3 (PHY, MAC, RLC, PDCP, RRC)
• Understanding of advanced wireless features such as carrier aggregation and dual connectivity (EN-DC)
• Strong knowledge of RF metrics including SNR, RSSI, RSRP, RSRQ, and SINR
• Strong networking knowledge including IPv4/IPv6, NAT, DNS, DHCP
• Experience analysing modem logs using tools such as Wireshark or QXDM
• Ability to analyse over-the-air signalling and debug network issues such as attach failures or handovers
• Experience using network emulators and test equipment such as R&S, Anritsu, Keysight, or Spirent
• Understanding of certification processes including Global Certification Forum and PTCRB
• Experience working with cross-functional teams including RF, software, and test engineering
