Our partner operates a large-scale IPTV and OTT streaming platforms deployed globally and running continuously in real production environments. As a Senior System Engineer (Support), you will play a key role in maintaining platform stability, resolving incidents, and improving the reliability and automation of systems that deliver live and on-demand video to users around the world.
This is a hands-on, senior technical role combining production support, system administration, incident management, and continuous improvement of operational processes.
What you’ll be responsible for
- Executing production upgrades, patches, and configuration changes with a strong focus on stability and minimal service disruption
- Handling L2/L3 support cases and participating in production incident resolution, including root cause analysis and post-incident reviews
- Administering, monitoring, and troubleshooting Linux and Windows systems in live production environments
- Performing network troubleshooting (TCP/IP, connectivity, latency, packet loss) and applying controlled production workarounds when required
- Supporting containerised services and ensuring reliable operation of Docker-based workloads
- Improving automation, monitoring, and operational workflows to reduce manual effort and incident recurrence
- Maintaining clear, structured operational documentation and sharing knowledge across the team
Skills & experience required
- Background in IPTV, OTT, or video delivery platforms
- Strong experience administering Linux systems in production environments
- Hands-on experience with Docker and containerised services
- Solid system administration and troubleshooting skills across OS, services, and applications
- Good understanding of basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls)
- Scripting experience (e.g. Bash, Python, or similar) for automation and operational tasks
Nice to have skills
- Experience with Docker Swarm and/or Kubernetes
- Knowledge of databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, Elasticsearch / OpenSearch
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools (Git, Jenkins, Jira or similar)
- Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting systems
