Data Architect – AWS / Lakehouse / Streaming Data

We’re supporting a major greenfield AWS data platform programme within the sports broadcasting and high-performance data space.

This is a high-profile engagement focused on designing and shaping the architectural foundations of a next-generation cloud-native data platform supporting large-scale, real-time sports data environments.

You’ll work alongside AWS principal architects, senior consultancy leadership, and executive stakeholders to define a modern data lakehouse architecture capable of supporting complex, multi-tenant, real-time data workloads.

This is not a traditional BI or reporting architecture role. We’re looking for a senior-level Data Architect with deep experience designing modern cloud-native data platforms, streaming architectures, and scalable lakehouse environments in AWS.

The environment is greenfield, meaning you’ll play a key role in shaping:

• Data lakehouse architecture
• Streaming and event-driven data patterns
• Multi-region / multi-tenant design
• Governance and compliance frameworks
• Real-time data processing strategies
• Technology selection alongside AWS and senior stakeholders

The role is both strategic and hands-on. You’ll need to be comfortable operating at C-level while remaining technically credible with engineering and architecture teams.

We’re looking for experience across:

• AWS-native data architectures
• Modern data lake / lakehouse platforms
• Apache Kafka
• Apache Flink
• Event-driven architecture
• Real-time streaming data systems
• Multi-tenant and distributed systems design
• Data governance, PII, and compliance-heavy environments
• Enterprise-scale architecture decision making

Experience with technologies such as S3, Glue, Redshift, MSK, Iceberg, Delta Lake, Snowflake, Databricks, or similar modern data tooling would be highly beneficial.

You should also have:

• Strong consulting or client-facing experience
• Proven ability to engage with senior stakeholders and C-suite leadership
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience operating in complex enterprise environments
